How RideMate keeps rides safe.

Everyone in the car is a verified student

Every rider and driver signs up with a school email (.edu) and a photo of their student ID, which our team reviews. Drivers also add their driver’s license. Riders are checked like drivers.

Pay only in the app

Card, Apple Pay or Google Pay, processed by Stripe. When you ask to join a ride, we hold the price on your card; you’re charged only if the driver accepts. No cash, no payment apps.

Share your trip

Send a link to family or friends. They see the driver, the car, the plate and the route until 1 hour after arrival.

Help on the ride

In an emergency, call 911 first. From the ride page you can read out the trip details, text your contacts and report to us.

Blind reviews

Riders and drivers rate each other after every trip. Neither sees the other’s review until both are in.

Women+ rides

A driver can make a ride visible only to women and non-binary students.

Report or block anyone

From a profile or a chat. Only our team sees reports. Read the Community Guidelines.

Talk to a person

Write to contact@ridemate.ai or from the ride page. We reply within 24 hours.

Before you get in

RideMate doesn’t run background checks. Check the driver’s name, photo, car and plate in the app before you get in.

Drivers use their own personal auto insurance. RideMate does not insure drivers, riders, vehicles or trips. Many personal auto policies may not cover carrying passengers who share trip costs, so drivers should check with their insurer before offering seats.
