What parents ask us before their kid books a ride home with RideMate.
Who will my kid ride with?
Only students with a school email and a student ID our team has checked. Riders are verified like drivers.
Can I follow the trip?
Yes. Your kid can send you a link from the ride page: you see the driver, the car, the plate and the route until 1 hour after arrival.
Are there rides just for women?
Yes. Women+ rides are visible only to women and non-binary students.
What about the money?
Your kid pays in the app with card, Apple Pay or Google Pay. If the driver cancels, your kid gets everything back.
Are rides insured?
Drivers use their own personal auto insurance. RideMate does not insure drivers, riders, vehicles or trips. Many personal auto policies may not cover carrying passengers who share trip costs, so drivers should check with their insurer before offering seats.
Does RideMate run background checks?
No. We check every student’s school email and student ID, and drivers add their driver’s license. Before getting in, your kid should check the driver’s name, photo, car and plate in the app.
What if something goes wrong?
Call 911 first. Then report it from the ride page or write to contact@ridemate.ai.
What if the driver cancels before Thanksgiving?
Your kid gets everything back, and can book another ride or tap Notify Me to hear when a new one is posted.
