How safe is RideMate?

Every RideMate user signs up with their university email (.edu) and a photo of their student ID, which our team reviews. Drivers also upload their driver's license. Riders and drivers rate each other after every ride, and you can report or block anyone in the app. More on our Safety page.

Can I choose who I travel with?

Yes. Before you book, you see each driver’s and rider’s profile: university, rating and reviews.

What if someone cancels?

If your driver cancels, you get everything back. If you cancel, what you get back depends on how early you do it: see the Cancellation Policy.

How do drivers get paid?

Through Stripe, 24–48 hours after the ride. RideMate takes no commission. Drivers receive what riders contribute, minus card processing fees.

Is there a RideMate fee?

The $4.99 RideMate fee is FREE, so you pay only your share of the trip cost.
